At Karimui in Chimbu Province.

Karimui is one of the larger communities that nestle around the base of the extinct volcano, Mount Karimui.

Large volumes of coffee are flown out to market by MAF to Goroka, and there is a large movement of passengers to the provincial capital, Chimbu, which is 15 minutes away by air to the north-west.

A road is supposed to be under construction from Chimbu to Karimui but it seems likely that it will be a long while before it reaches the area.

A number of churches work in the area including the Evangelical Lutheran Church and some Independent Baptists.
