Ambulua is a short, rather rough airstrip located in a valley west of Mount Wilhelm, PNG's highest mountain peak at 6,100' above sea level. The airstrip can be quite a difficult place to land with a slightly restricted circuit and tailwinds after about 10 a.m. in the morning - bearing in mind that most highland airstrips are one way, because of the slope you have to land uphill and take-off downhill, regardless of wind direction. |
