Sometimes MAF has to transport its own cargo in order to keep aircraft flying.

On this occasion two replacement turbine engines are loaded in Port Moresby to be flown to Mount Hagen where all MAF PNG's maintenance is carried out. On other occasions MAF aircraft are used to transport fuel to remote locations where it cannot be delivered by road or boat.
