The Yuat River in Enga Province is formed from two other substantial rivers, the Jimi and the Lai. It flows northwards out of the highlands and across the Sepik Plain, to eventually join the Sepik River itself. Mountains tend to become covered with cloud much sooner than the river valleys, and therefore for pilots, river valleys such as this act as important routes even when weather over the nearby mountains can be quite bad. |
